The View Teases Its ‘Big Move’ to a ‘Hot New Studio’ in Season 28 Promo

“You never know what’s going to happen here,” longtime co-host Whoopi Goldberg says in the clip, which we can exclusively share.

The View is gearing up for an exciting new season in a brand-new studio!

ABC News’ long-running daytime show will kick off its 28th season on Tuesday, Sept. 3. While you can expect to see familiar faces such as Whoopi Goldberg, Joy Behar, Sara Haines, Sunny Hostin, Ana Navarro, and Alyssa Farah Griffin, there’s a big new change that fans can look forward to.

“Y’all know we’re moving, right?” Goldberg says in a new promo for the show, which we can reveal exclusively.

If you watched the final episode of season 27 on Aug. 2, you already know about the move. Hostin announced the show would be leaving its New York City’s Upper West Side studio and relocating downtown to the Walt Disney Company’s newly completed 22-story Manhattan headquarters in Hudson Square.

“This is the final episode of the season and, after 10 years and 2,143 episodes, this is also the last show we’ll do from this studio. We’re sad to say goodbye, but we’re thrilled to be moving to a brand-new studio downtown,” Hostin said, calling the space “state of the art.”

Before its 10-year stint on the Upper West Side, The View filmed from another studio in the same vicinity. This old building was shared not just by The View, but also by beloved ABC soaps like All My Children and One Life to Live.

It’s not yet clear if The View will get a new set to go with its new studio, as the promo doesn’t include a sneak peek of the new space. However, the promo does show Goldberg, Behar, Haines, Hostin, Navarro, and Farah Griffin carrying boxes to their “fabulous new home.”

“Yes, The View is on the move,” says Haines. Hostin adds, “We’re moving downtown to the hottest new studio to match our hot topics.”

While Navarro transports her sweet poodle ChaCha in a box, Behar opts out of carrying boxes altogether. “I’m not carrying these boxes,” the comedian quips. “Let Alyssa do it!”

“Sure,” Farah Griffin says, carrying two boxes to everyone else’s one. “I’m used to heavy lifting. I’m a republican on The View,” she jokes.

The promo continues, noting that while there will be a new season with new hot topics and a new studio, the show will keep its longtime weekday timeslot: 11 a.m. ET.

“You never know what’s going to happen here,” Goldberg teases.
