An Eye-opening Day in a Delivery Driver’s Life
A content creator named Joshua Nair decided to take on a fascinating challenge. Better known as Night Scape, Joshua’s real name is Harry Gallagher, and he’s famous for his daring stunts on YouTube. His latest adventure had him working as an Uber Eats and Deliveroo driver for 24 hours straight, and the results have caught everyone’s attention.
Gallagher is no stranger to extreme adventures. You might remember him from his viral video where he broke into a football stadium and climbed its roof to get a magnificent view of the pitch. Or perhaps his stunts in London where he scaled various structures. But this time, he opted for something different yet equally demanding.
In his latest video, titled “I Worked UberEats For 24 Hours NONSTOP And Made $_______,” Night Scape aimed to see just how much he could earn by delivering food in London for a full 24 hours. Remarkably, he chose not to use a car, e-bike, or even an electric scooter. Instead, he rode a regular bicycle around the bustling streets of London.
The Challenge Begins
When Joshua first started his shift, things were slow. He then figured out that busier areas of the city might be more lucrative. Fellow delivery drivers suggested Soho, Dalston, and Tottenham Court Road as potential hotspots. His experiment took him to these busy locations to maximize his order intake.
Not only did he deliver for Uber Eats, but he also picked up shifts with Deliveroo to increase his chances of getting more orders. His dedication, to say the least, was impressive.
During the first two orders, which he waited an hour and cycled 12 minutes each for, he earned a total of £6.26. As the hours passed, he managed to make £57.10 by the end of the ninth hour. Clearly, this was no easy feat, pedaling all around London’s hectic streets.
The final 15 hours were a testament to his endurance. Night Scape looked increasingly exhausted, but he pushed through, delivering order after order.
The Final Tally
As morning came, Joshua revealed that, after completing 22 deliveries and spending a significant amount of time waiting for orders, he earned a total of £95.93. This figure stunned him; less than £100 for 24 hours of grueling work was not what he had anticipated.
Out of his total earnings, £6.50 came from tips. Reflecting on his experience, he advised against delivering food on a regular bike. Instead, he suggested using an e-bike or a moped for such tasks. The strain and exhaustion he felt were overwhelming, noting he hadn’t been that tired in years.
Besides, Night Scape’s ordeal highlighted some of the common challenges faced by delivery drivers. At one point, he forgot a part of an order, prompting the customer to run out and remind him. Apologetically, he made amends, even though the customer was visibly upset.
There was also an unfortunate incident where he accidentally crashed into someone’s parked car, damaging it. He left his personal details to resolve the matter later, showing responsibility for his actions despite his fatigue.
