Groom-to-be accidentally confessed his secret affair live on radio two months before wedding

A groom fell for a radio station’s trap to test whether he was cheating just months before his wedding.

A soon-to-be bride called Jen contacted radio station Channel 955 Detroit in Michigan, US, after her fiancé called off their wedding just a couple of months before it was set to take place.

Prepare to feel the tension:

A clip of the show shared to TikTok by the station sees a presenter claim her fiancé said: “I can’t do this. I’m calling it off.” And with that, he left Jen.

Jen confided in Channel 955 Detroit: “If he was dropping hints, I was not picking them up, and I just don’t understand how he could get cold feet now because he’s had time to think about this.

“He proposed after three-and-a-half years of dating; we’ve been engaged for over two years. It’s not a new concept, it’s not like we met six months ago.”

So, the radio station decided to find out if there was ‘cheating involved’ in the fiancé’s decision to call off the wedding or whether he was just having ‘a little bit of a breakdown’.

They called Jen’s fiancé and offered him a free dozen roses to see where—and more importantly—to whom he would send them. Jen added she wanted to figure out ‘where’ he is and ‘find him,’ but if he was with another woman, she’d be at a loss for words.

Channel 955 Detroit then told her to mute her phone and rang up her fiancé.

The team posed as an online flower company called Roses Bloom, offering him free flowers in return for answering two survey questions.

He agreed and answered the first question, noting he’d not bought flowers in the last six months, but ‘certainly will be thinking about’ purchasing flowers in the upcoming half a year—amber flag number one.

The radio station then asked who he wanted to send his flowers to, and he said a name. This was the moment the red flag flew high, as it wasn’t his fiancée’s name, but someone named Ally.

After being asked what his ‘relationship’ to Ally was, he stammered but then admitted: “Girlfriend.”

He—unsurprisingly—wasn’t happy about the call being ‘recorded for quality and training purposes’ but agreed anyway. He later found out Jen had been listening the whole time after a presenter informed him of what had actually been going on.

His response? Not an apology or call out to Jen, but a simple: “What is this?”

It didn’t take long for people to flood social media with their opinions.

One TikToker said: “The way my heart broke for his fiancé.”

“Man. Jen, hear me out. I know it hurts, but you’re better off,” another wrote.

A third commented: “How do people still get caught with these? Doesn’t everyone know about War of Roses?”

A fourth noted: “1st red flag is that he actually thought this was legit and then gave out the girlfriend’s info. Not the brightest bulb in the knife drawer!”
