Country Singer Rory Feek Remarries 8 Years After Death of His Wife Joey: ‘Blessed to Love Again’

Feek also shared in a blog post that his and Joey’s 10-year-old daughter, Indiana, inspired him to remarry

Rory Feek has remarried — and it was all thanks, in part, to his daughter, Indiana.

The country music singer and songwriter, 59, revealed that eight years after the death of his singing partner and wife, Joey Feek, he walked down the aisle again to wed his partner and teacher, Rebecca, on Sunday, July 14.

Feek shared in a blog post that the pair tied the knot “under a beautiful timber-frame pavilion” in Greycliff, Mont. The ceremony was attended by his and Joey’s daughter, 10, as well as several close friends and family members.

He even surprised the bride with a song that he had written for her called “I do,” in which he noted how much her love meant to him and how lucky he was to have found her.

The accompanying music video for the song showed snippets from the pair’s intimate wedding, including the bride arriving in a long-sleeved lace wedding gown with her hair in an elegant updo from which a floor-length veil cascaded. She could be seen joining the musician, who wore a red velvet vest over a white button-up shirt and beige slacks, at the altar before he surprised her with the song.

“I found myself thinking about how blessed I was to be given the opportunity to love again,” he said of the inspiration behind the song. “To not only feel loved but to get the chance to give love again. To be the one who gets to spend my life making Rebecca happy.”

Rebecca could be seen smiling widely and tearing up as Feek went to pick up his guitar and began to serenade her in front of their wedding guests. After he finished his song, the couple could be seen gazing lovingly into each other’s eyes and holding hands as the minister continued with the rest of the ceremony.

Feek and Rebecca sealed the deal with a final kiss before going over to celebrate with Indiana, who served as a bridesmaid, to give her a sweet hug. The loving dad revealed in his blog post that his daughter inspired him to remarry.

He shared that while he had developed feelings for Rebecca, his daughter had only seen her as her “school teacher and friend,” and so he “waited and watched to see” Indiana’s reaction to their relationship. Then one day in March, everything changed after his daughter wanted to tell him something important.

“I asked Indy, and she told me that she said, ‘Ms. Rebecca, I think you should marry Papa,’” he recalled. “And then Indy looked at me and said, ‘And I told Miss Rebecca that my Mama’s been gone a long time. And if she marries you, maybe she could be my new mother…’”

“As I wiped away some tears, I told her I thought that was a wonderful idea,” he continued, adding that they began the wedding planning process shortly after.

Feek noted in his blog that his special moment hugging Rebecca and his daughter at the wedding was something that he would remember forever.

“I think by far my and her favorite moment of the wedding was this one. When Indiana was given the gift of having a Mama in her life again. And Rebecca was given the gift of being a mother. And we became a family,” he shared.
