The Houston Police Department confirms that the investigation is ongoing.
The early morning of Thursday, July 18, started off with quite the jaw-dropping moment when authorities in Texas uncovered two decomposed bodies inside an 18-wheeler trailer. Talk about a shocking wake-up call!
So, how did this horror story unfold? Well, it began with a rather eerie conversation. Houston police received a call just past the witching hour from someone who overheard a group of individuals, believed to be experiencing homelessness, babbling about two bodies found inside a truck. Cue the spine-chilling music.
Upon arriving at the scene, police were greeted by an assortment of Purple Heart donation trucks. Imagine the surprise when they discovered one of these trucks had a hole cut out. What a sneaky entry!
With all the bravado of a detective in a noir film, Lt. R. Willkens announced to reporters that the bodies were “very decomposed, almost look like a mummy.” In other words, they’ve been chilling out there for quite some time. Yikes!
It’s worth noting that police believe these poor souls, who haven’t yet been identified, were living inside the truck. A tragic end to an already dire situation.
The Houston Police Department confirmed on Friday, July 19 that the investigation is ongoing. We’ll have to stay tuned for any new developments.
The cause of death, which will be determined by the medical examiner, remains a mystery for now. Sounds like an episode of a dramatic mystery series, don’t you think?
