Lisa Kudrow Jokes That Even Sandra Bullock Has Called Her Phoebe by Mistake: ‘What Did I Just Do?’

The ‘Friends’ alum recalled meeting Bullock at a party during an appearance on ‘Jimmy Kimmel Live!’

Sandra Bullock is a Friends fan!

While appearing on ‘Jimmy Kimmel Live!’, Lisa Kudrow shared a funny moment when Sandra Bullock, the much-loved actress, accidentally called her Phoebe, the character Kudrow played on ‘Friends’.

Kudrow said, “Oh my God! I just love this, I was at a party, a big party, and I was talking to Sandra Bullock, name-dropping, I have to, but it’s true, and we were talking and she was like, ‘Well, I guess you’ll just have to talk to yourself Phoebe, about something,’ and she called me Phoebe!”

Both had a laugh about it, with Bullock quickly realizing her mistake and exclaiming, “What did I just do?”

Kudrow fondly reflected on Bullock’s amusing slip-up while promoting her new Apple TV+ series Time Bandits.

Kudrow captivated audiences as Phoebe Buffay, the quirky singer-songwriter in ‘Friends’, for a remarkable 10 seasons until the series concluded in 2004.

During the interview, guest host Anthony Anderson curiously asked Kudrow about her experience after the final week of the show’s production.

Kudrow said, “Do you know what? I forgot, and like a week ago it just came up. My husband and son were talking and apparently I was crying in the kitchen,” she said. “And my son was 5 and he wanted to know why I was crying. And my husband said, ‘Well she’s sad because Friends is done,’ and he said, ‘But she can see her friends, she can just call them.’ No clue, I had no clue that he never knew what the show was called, he just knew I worked on a show. ‘Why is she crying?’ ”

Kudrow welcomed her son Julian Murray — now 26 — with her husband Michel Stern in May 1998.

In 2022, Kudrow humorously recounted that her own son was less impressed by her role after he watched the show while he was sick with COVID-19.

She shared that Julian called her and said, ‘So I just watched the first two episodes. It’s really good, Mom.’ Kudrow, excited, replied, “Thanks,” and Julian added, “Can I ask you some questions about that?” It was a touching moment for Kudrow, who never thought her family paid much attention to her popular sitcom.

Kudrow humorously continued to quote her son Julian, “He said, ‘It’s actually really funny,’” she laughed, quoting him. “‘I mean, the guys are so funny.’”

However, Julian quickly added, “No, I mean you’re funny too,” to which Kudrow jokingly responded, “Never in my life have I wanted to tell my own kid, like, ‘F— you!’ I mean, I thought it, I didn’t say it.”

Kudrow chuckled and added, “It’s not required that you’re a fan. You don’t have to like what I do. But don’t be so demeaning!”
