Little Boy Uses Plastic Bottles To Catch Fish & Goes Viral For ‘Best Fishing Video’

As we all know, there are many, many ways to catch a fish. Sadly, I’m not good at any of them, so imagine my surprise when I stumbled across a video of a little boy using plastic bottles to catch some delicious protein for his family. As the proverb says, “Necessity is the mother of invention,” and this kid proves it without a doubt, which explains why the clip has been called the “best fishing video.”

Fishing is one of the earliest ways humans have harvested resources, and different cultures have created various methods over time. Despite having the best gear, some of us still struggle to catch dinner. That’s why the idea of using plastic bottles and string to catch fish sounds impossible.

However, it can be done. Proving that necessity breeds invention, a young boy demonstrated to the world how to fish with just a few items you’d find in the trash. It was an astonishing feat, so much so that it went viral and has been hailed as the “best fishing video.”

Posted on the “Pro Fish Hunter” YouTube channel, the 8-minute video features a young boy taking on a grown-up’s task using basic tools. Sitting by the river’s edge, he uses plastic soda bottles, string, and sticks to get started, and his confidence in his setup is evident.

You might doubt his equipment’s effectiveness as you watch him work, but he clearly believes he’ll soon have a delicious fish dinner. And he’s right.

Instead of expensive fishing gear, the boy improvises with what he has. Using dough putty as bait instead of worms or fancy lures, he carefully wraps it around the hooks. He then plants reeds by the water’s edge, secures his fishing line with soda bottles on sticks, and throws the baited hooks into the water. Three hours later, he returns to check his lines.

At first glance, it seems like the lines are just sitting in the water. But as the boy re-spools his line around the first bottle, the water starts to flutter and splash. With a bit of effort, he pulls out a fish almost as big as himself! And he doesn’t stop there.

After pulling out his first catch and placing it in a bowl, he moves to the other lines, reeling in more fish. Although the next fish is smaller, it’s still a good catch. The third is the smallest, but the fourth brings another substantial catch.

The final fish may be smaller than the first, but it’s still enough for a meal or two. The boy’s excitement is palpable as you watch the video, and he has every reason to be proud. At such a young age, his fishing skills are impressive.

Viewers were quick to praise him. “Amazing technique, but a much more impressive young man. At such a young age he is already a great fisherman and has incredible strength. I know he will go far in life, keep up the great work,” wrote one admirer. Others echoed these sentiments, applauding his motivation and patience, qualities not often expected in a child.

It’s clear that kids can be surprisingly capable, especially when necessity pushes them. After all, hunger is a great motivator.
