“She’s very proud of her kids,” a source close to the actress and mother of six shares
Angelina Jolie is having quite the year.
The Oscar-winning actress recently enjoyed an exciting night at the 2024 Tony Awards, where her new Broadway show The Outsiders achieved great success, including the title of best new musical. This show holds a special place for Jolie, 49, as she collaborated with her 15-year-old daughter Vivienne, who helped with the production.
“Angie seems very happy and content with her life,” a source close to Jolie shares. “She’s focused on her kids and work. She’s involved in projects that she truly cares and feels passionate about.”
The insider, speaking about Jolie who also shares daughters Zahara, 19, and Shiloh, 18, along with sons Maddox, 22, Pax, 20, and Knox, 15, with ex Brad Pitt, added, “She’s very proud of her kids.”
Vivienne inspired her mom to take on a lead producer role for The Outsiders after they attended the musical’s world premiere in California, as reported in August 2023.
“She’ll correct me,” Jolie later said of Vivienne’s theater-producer aptitude, during the show’s April premiere in New York City. “She’ll say, ‘Didn’t you read the memo? We have to do this. We have to go through this.’”
“She’s been a really tough assistant,” the Girl, Interrupted actress noted, praising her daughter for taking her role very seriously.
Jolie and Vivienne also appeared together in Los Angeles on May 30, attending the opening night of Reefer Madness: The Musical. They were spotted on the red carpet with Jolie’s friend, Kristen Bell, a producer of the new show.
The Outsiders received twelve Tony Award nominations on June 16, winning four, including best new musical, best direction of a musical, best lighting design in a musical, and best sound design in a musical. It was a moment of joy and recognition for all those involved.
Earlier that month, Jolie enjoyed a “quiet day at home with her kids” while celebrating her 49th birthday, a source close to the actress mentioned.
“Zahara is home from college, and she looks forward to everyone spending the day together,” the insider shared.
Jolie last appeared on the big screen in Marvel Studios’ superhero movie Eternals and in Those Who Wished Me Dead, both released in 2021.
She is set to star next in the upcoming movie Maria, a biopic of Maria Callas, directed by Pablo Larraín. The drama, filmed in 2023, is currently in post-production and is yet to have a release date.
