The tragic incident occurred on Saturday, July 6, at Ogden Canyon in Utah

A Utah CEO and his teenage daughter tragically lost their lives in a car accident when a bulldozer fell onto their vehicle. This unfortunate event took place on Saturday, July 6, at Ogden Canyon in Utah. Richard David Hendrickson, the CEO and president of Lifetime Products, a well-known outdoor furniture company, and his 16-year-old daughter Sally, were identified as the victims by the Utah Highway Patrol.

The incident happened around 12:49 p.m. local time. A tow truck carrying a mini bulldozer was moving eastbound in the opposite direction of Hendrickson’s vehicle. As the trucks negotiated a right-hand curve, the bulldozer was ejected from the tow truck, landing on Hendrickson’s GMC pickup, which was towing a boat at the time.

Sadly, both Richard and his daughter Sally were declared dead at the scene. Two other adult passengers in the vehicle sustained non-life-threatening injuries.

In a heartfelt statement, Lifetime Products expressed their sorrow: “It is with profound sadness that we announce the tragic and sudden passing of our CEO and President, Richard David Hendrickson, in a car accident today in Ogden Canyon. This heartbreaking incident also claimed the life of one of his daughters, Sally.”

Hendrickson wasn’t just a company leader but also a visionary and a friend to many. The statement from Lifetime Products described him as someone who had a unique ability to connect with people, bringing together his many talents in a special way. Barry Mower, the Founder of Lifetime Products, shared, “He was one of my most trusted and cherished friends and will be sorely missed. Lifetime will not be the same without him. My love and heartfelt sympathy go out to his dear family.”

It was revealed that the other passengers in the vehicle were Hendrickson’s wife and two of their other children, both of whom sustained non-life-threatening injuries. Another daughter was not in the vehicle as she was overseas.

Utah Governor Spencer Cox also shared his condolences on X (formerly Twitter), expressing his sorrow: “Richard was a friend and an incredible leader. We are heartbroken by his tragic passing with his daughter Sally. We mourn with the surviving members of his family and pray they will find comfort and healing.”

This incident has cast a long shadow over the community, leaving everyone from colleagues to friends and local citizens deeply saddened by the sudden loss. It’s a stark reminder of the preciousness and unpredictability of life.
