Gypsy Rose Blanchard Is Pregnant, Expecting First Baby with Boyfriend Ken Urker

Gypsy Rose Blanchard has shared some joyous news! She announced on her YouTube channel this Tuesday, July 9, that she is expecting her first child.

Yes, it’s true — Gypsy Rose Blanchard is going to be a mom!

At 32, the star of ‘Gypsy Rose: Life After Lockup,’ who endured years of medical abuse and was involved in the 2015 killing of her mother Dee Dee, is now expecting a baby with her boyfriend, Ken Urker, who is 31 years old.

Blanchard revealed the exciting news in a heartfelt YouTube video titled “I’m Pregnant, My Journey So Far.” In the video, she shared, “I know the rumors have been flying around for quite some time now, and I’m happy to announce that I am 11 weeks pregnant.”

She added, “Ken and I are expecting our very first child come January of 2025. This was not planned at all, it was completely unexpected, but we’re both very excited to take on this new journey of parenthood.”

Later in the video, she addressed some concerns from her followers, saying, “I know that there are going to be people who feel like I’m not ready to be a mother, and I don’t know if anyone’s really ready to be a mother.”

Emotionally, Blanchard said, “All the things that I wanted in a mother, I want to give to this baby,” while wiping away tears. “I am a mother now, I am happy, and I just want to be a good mother for my child. I want to be everything my mother wasn’t.”

Earlier this year, in May, Blanchard discussed her rekindled romance with Urker. They initially connected while she was in prison, with Urker being a pen pal. They got engaged in 2018 but went their separate ways before Blanchard’s release in 2023. At the time of her release, Blanchard was married to Ryan Anderson, a relationship that began while she was behind bars.

Blanchard explained, “Ken and I reconnected as friends. It wasn’t like, jump out of a marriage and then let me meet up with you, and boom, we’re in a relationship. We had kept a friendship for the longest time. He was in a relationship. I was with Ryan, and so we were living different lives with respect to our partners, a ‘wish you the best’ type of thing.”

Blanchard turned to Urker after her marriage to Anderson ended. “It wasn’t until I knew that my marriage was over that I was like, ‘I would like to see you and let’s hang out because we never got to hang out before when I was in prison’,” she recounted.

She went on to describe Urker as her first true love, saying, “I would say that Ken is my first love because that’s when I honestly felt like a mature love. It wasn’t based off of a fantasy. It was actually based on a connection that two people have for each other.”

In May, Blanchard’s stepmom Kristy Blanchard shared that Urker was moving to Louisiana to be closer to Gypsy. Kristy admitted that she played a role in pushing her stepdaughter to reunite with her former fiancé. “It’s all my fault, and I’ll gladly take the blame. I wanted them back together,” she confessed. “I made that happen. Put the heat on me.”

Kristy emphasized her stepdaughter’s happiness, saying, “Gypsy will finally get her happily ever after. Ken’s moving to New Orleans to be with her soon. He found a place. Gypsy is so excited to have him closer. A love like theirs comes once in a lifetime.”

Gypsy Rose Blanchard also touched upon how she’d have to discuss her past with her future children during a December 2023 interview. Blanchard admitted, “It’s hard because I’m going into a new life and I’m newly married, and I’m going to have kids one day, and I’m going to have to explain to my kids why their grandmother on mommy’s side isn’t around. And that’s going to be a really hard conversation.”

However, she is confident that her difficult experiences have only prepared her to be a better parent. “Whenever someone says, ‘Do you think that because of what you went through, you’re going to do that to your kids?’ I say, ‘You know what? Absolutely not,”’ Blanchard assured, reflecting on her growth and ongoing therapy. “I have learned what not to do. I have no concerns about my parenting when it comes to that.”
