“Do not f—ing play with me right now,” said Rexha, who was previously injured by an audience member’s thrown phone at a New York City show in June 2023
It’s not cool or funny to throw objects at Bebe Rexha.
The 34-year-old pop star recently had a crowd member removed from one of her concerts and threatened legal action after the person allegedly attempted to throw an object at her mid-performance.
The incident occurred during one of the “I’m Good (Blue)” singer’s recent festival performances, according to a fan-filmed video shared on social media. The video shows Rexha giving the crowd member a piece of her mind.
“If you hit me with something on the stage, I will take you for everything you’ve f—ing got,” she said in the clip. “Do not f—ing play with me right now.”
Another part of the video shows Rexha looking to identify whoever tried to throw the object. “Which one? Point me to the person. I want to see them,” she told the crowd before spotting the concertgoer. “Out. Get the f— out. That’s it. It’s done for you.”
After the crowd member was removed from the scene, the Grammy-nominated artist restarted the song she was performing and resumed the show.
A representative for Rexha did not immediately respond to requests for comment.
Last month, Rexha had multiple crowd members removed from a concert in Wisconsin for throwing items her way — about a year after she was injured by an audience member’s thrown phone at a New York City show in June 2023.
According to fan-filmed videos from the Wisconsin performance on social media, she warned audience members about the consequences of hurling items toward the stage. “If you want to hit me in the face, I had them press charges to the other guy. I would love to become richer,” she said, assuring fans she was making a “joke” and “not inviting that” behavior.
During her June 2023 concert at The Rooftop at Pier 17 in lower Manhattan, Rexha was hit in the forehead with a phone, splitting her eyebrow and causing a black eye. She was then escorted off the stage, treated by a medical team at the venue, and taken to a hospital where she received stitches.
New Jersey resident Nicolas Malvagna was arrested for the crime and charged with two counts of third-degree assault as well as second-degree aggravated harassment, third-degree attempted assault, and second-degree harassment. He is believed to be working towards a community service requirement to have the charges dropped.
Earlier this month, Rexha opened up about her frustrations with the music industry in a series of posts on X. “I could bring down a BIG chunk of this industry. I AM frustrated. I have been UNDERMINED. I’ve been so quiet for the longest time,” she began.
“I haven’t seen the signs even though people constantly are bringing them up and they have been SO OBVIOUS,” continued Rexha. “And when I have spoken up I’ve been silenced and PUNISHED by this industry. Things must change or I’m telling ALL of my truths. The good, the bad, and the ugly.”
