Two young firefighters from Georgia, Raegan Anderson and Chandler Kuhbander, both 24 years old, were found dead nearly 400 miles from where they lived. The heartbreaking discovery was confirmed by police and family members.

The high school sweethearts were found along with Anderson’s black 2017 Ford Focus in Cocke County, Tennessee. They were both a part of the Liberty County Fire Services team in Hinesville, Georgia.

So far, authorities have not released specific details about how they might have died.

The last time the couple was seen alive was on June 24, early in the day. They were spotted in Anderson’s car parked at a Crunch gym in Savannah. According to Kuhbander’s mother, he seemed completely fine as he left after his workout.

The couple’s relationship had recently taken a turn for the worse, which might have contributed to their tragic end. They had been together since high school but had just broken up, with close ones describing the relationship as “toxic.”

Just two days before they vanished, there was a domestic incident at an Olive Garden in Pooler, Georgia. Anderson reportedly confronted Kuhbander while he was on a date, damaging his car, resulting in her facing charges.

On the morning of their disappearance, at around 10 a.m., Kuhbander contacted his mother. He told her that Anderson was continuously calling him and threatened to take her own life, something she had allegedly mentioned before.

When police checked Anderson’s home after they went missing, they found the door open and a note suggesting she might be planning to harm herself.

The Liberty County Fire Services, where both firefighters were employed, conveyed their profound grief, emphasizing the dedication Anderson and Kuhbander had shown in their roles. The department’s statement reflected deep condolences for their families during this harrowing time.

The cause of their deaths remains under investigation.
