Ellen DeGeneres Cancels Multiple Shows on 2024 Comedy Tour
Ellen DeGeneres, who’s currently on her farewell tour, Ellen’s Last Stand… Up, has had to cancel four of her upcoming shows.
According to Ticketmaster, the affected dates are Dallas (July 10), San Francisco (July 21), Seattle (July 23), and Chicago (Aug. 11). The message on the Ticketmaster pages reads: “Unfortunately, the Event Organizer has had to cancel your event. You don’t need to do a thing. We’ll issue a refund to the original method of payment used at time of purchase, as soon as funds are received from the Event Organizer.”
USA TODAY reached out to representatives for DeGeneres and Live Nation for further comments on the cancellations.
Back on May 29, DeGeneres had announced a summer tour across North America, described as “the last opportunity for fans to witness a comedy legend in her final curtain call.” Due to popular demand, extra dates were added in San Francisco, Seattle, and Chicago. With the recent cancellations, these cities will now host only one show each.
Previously, several shows in Washington, Oregon, and California had been confirmed, with DeGeneres kicking off her tour in Los Angeles this past April.
During her opening night, as reported by Rolling Stone and People, DeGeneres candidly addressed her absence from the public eye in recent years. “We were both just laying low for a while,” she remarked about herself and her wife of 15 years, Portia de Rossi.

The final two shows scheduled for Minneapolis on Aug. 16 and 17 are being labeled as a “special taping.” DeGeneres has confirmed that she will release a new stand-up comedy special on Netflix later this year.
