‘The View’ Is Going on Hiatus: What to Know About When the Show Will Return
The View is taking a little summer break, just like many of us do. Whoopi Goldberg, Joy Behar, Sunny Hostin, Sara Haines, Ana Navarro, and Alyssa Farah Griffin will take the first week of July off. Don’t worry, though! The show will still air reruns starting Monday, July 1. The cohosts will be back refreshed and ready on July 8.
Once the show resumes, get ready for some exciting guests, like Jenn Tran from season 21 of The Bachelorette.
‘The View’ Cohosts Through the Years and Why They Left
Before the break, there was a bit of fun on-air when the cohosts tried to angle for a cruise vacation, but producer Brian Teta had to be the bearer of bad news and deny the request.
Back in January, TikTok’s Marc Sebastian shared a video calling Whoopi Goldberg, 68, the “godmother” of the Serenade of the Seas cruise, showcasing a portrait of her on the ship. Whoopi confirmed on The View that she received the title 20 years ago.
Apparently, with the rise of social media, Sebastian and others began turning their cruise experiences into a kind of reality show. This sparked the interest of Joy Behar, 81. When Whoopi jokingly asked if anyone could commit to a lengthy cruise, Joy enthusiastically replied, “Yes, I would do it.”
Joy asked Brian, “Brian, can you give me nine months off? Because I would do it. It sounds like such a great trip,” revealing she’d already looked into all the fun perks of the trip.
Sara Haines chimed in with a bit of humor, saying her body could only handle a cruise for seven days. “I’d come back two sizes up and hungover,” she quipped. “Like, I cannot do nine months. I’d be a mess.”
Most Shocking Talk Show Scandals
Whoopi kept the fun going by suggesting the ship should consider having a talk with the cohosts about setting sail for a long stint. “The ship is beautiful,” she added.
Sunny Hostin, 55, then asked Brian Teta, 47, if they could experience this adventurous trip, but he just shook his head, much to Joy’s dismay. “I want to go,” Joy persisted, with Sunny adding, “I do too.”
Even though the cohosts won’t be sailing away with Serenade of the Sea, it will be interesting to see how they spend their time off.
You can catch The View weekdays at 11 a.m. ET on ABC.
