The singer and actress was on the Amalfi Coast last week, while Ben Affleck remained in L.A. amid reports of marital strain.
Jennifer Lopez embraced “la movida” during her Italian vacation, a local source says.
The Atlas star, 54, recently enjoyed a postcard-perfect holiday on the Amalfi Coast without husband Ben Affleck amid reports of strain in their marriage.
“She lived life like a local; she sat away from her security and immersed herself in the local movida,” the source says, invoking the originally Spanish term for the lively scene and late-night revelry Italy is known for, particularly in summer.
“She was in a lot of the local restaurants,” the source added, “not just the best top-end ones, but also the very typical local ones.”
Among the eateries Lopez visited on her trip are La Gavitella in Praiano, celeb-favorite Lo Scoglio on the beach in Nerano, and Ristorante Da Vincenzo in Positano.
At Da Vincenzo, Lopez was originally going to sit at a table inside with more privacy, but upon arriving, opted for al fresco seating, the source says: “She wanted a table out in the street, so in the midst of people passing, cars passing, immersed in the street and in Positano life.”
She had a similarly relaxed time at La Gavitella, according to a second source.
Lopez arrived at the restaurant and beach club, which offers stunning views of Positano and Capri, via boat with two friends.
“She was relaxed. She ordered, spoke and laughed with her friends,” says the source. Lopez opted for the “chef’s specialty” — the linguine with lobster — during her late afternoon visit.
The star’s vacation, which wrapped up with a stop at Paris Fashion Week, comes after Live Nation announced on May 31 that she was taking time “to be with her children, family, and close friends” and would be canceling her planned concert tour amid what sources have called strain in her marriage to Affleck.
The couple, who recently put their $61 million Beverly Hills home on the market, were spotted together in L.A. on Wednesday, June 26. They were photographed separately entering the same building in West Hollywood, where both Affleck and Lopez have offices.
