A mother has sparked controversy by marrying her adopted son, whom she raised from the age of 14. Aisylu Chizhevskaya Mingalim, 53, from Tatarstan, Russia, has left child welfare experts horrified after tying the knot with 22-year-old Daniel Chizhevsky. The pair’s relationship has raised significant ethical and legal concerns.
Aisylu first met Daniel when he was just 13 years old, working as a singing teacher at his orphanage. She adopted him a year later, and for the next eight years, she raised him as her son. Their relationship, however, took an unexpected turn when they decided to marry, which has led to severe repercussions.
Authorities have now taken custody of Aisylu’s other five adopted children, including one boy and four girls. The children have reportedly been placed into care homes or returned to their biological families. Aisylu and Daniel’s marriage ceremony took place at a restaurant in Kazan. Despite the outrage and legal implications, Aisylu maintains that her relationship with Daniel is perfect and insists they cannot live without each other. “We are on the same wavelength,” she told local media.
