When it comes to big celebrity events and red carpets, you can bet the stars put a lot of thought into what they wear.
In today’s world, where photos and videos are shared online almost instantly, it’s crucial to choose the right outfit. Some celebrities even have to plan their wardrobes months in advance since certain dresses can take up to 800 hours to make!
This was the case for Jennifer Lopez at this year’s Met Gala. With the theme “Garden of Time,” the singer — who’s also in the news due to rumors about her marriage to Ben Affleck — went all out with her outfit.
Reports say Lopez’s sheer, mermaid-style silver gown took more than 800 hours of hand embroidery to create.
The dress was also decorated with 2,500,000 silver foil bugles and beads, making it a stunning sight on the red carpet.
Unsurprisingly, the This Is Me Now singer received loads of praise for her choice. But of course, some critics had to weigh in as well.
Lopez faced some harsh comments about her appearance, with critics accusing her of trying to hide her age by editing her photos.
One person on Instagram wrote, “She shows her age. Face.”
Another said, “We’ve seen the unfiltered picture of this and it’s not the same.”
A third added, “Your face is old and wrinkled.”
A fourth questioned, “Why does she edit her pics? Everyone knows she’s older.”
However, Lopez has much bigger things to worry about than comments from people she doesn’t even know.
Recently, rumors have suggested there might be trouble in her marriage to actor Ben Affleck. After becoming one of Hollywood’s hottest couples by getting married in 2022, some reports now claim they might be heading for a split.
We want to stress that these are just rumors for now — neither Lopez nor Affleck has confirmed any of this. But if you think there’s usually some truth to these stories, it’s certainly an interesting situation to watch.
