Summer is in full swing, and the soaring temperatures are making everyone feel the heat. This past week, several parts of the US have been scorched by an intense heat wave.
Now, if you think you have it tough, just picture what those poor puppies endured, left in a crate under the blazing sun. Fortunately, their story has a happy ending, thanks to a compassionate passerby.
In a heartfelt Facebook post, the Tarrant County Sheriff’s Office in Fort Worth, Texas shared the rescue of 8 adorable puppies found abandoned in a field, confined to a carrier.
With temperatures hitting a scorching 100 degrees and no water available, the puppies were in dire need. Thankfully, a kind-hearted individual discovered them just in time, prompting Fort Worth Animal Control to intervene and bring the puppies to safety.
The rescued pups are expected to be available for adoption this week, following medical check-ups. While the Sheriff’s Office did not provide specific details about their health, one can imagine the struggle they faced in such extreme heat. The identity of the person responsible for abandoning the pups remains unknown, and the post did not mention whether an investigation is underway.
Outrage poured out on social media, with many people expressing their fury at the cruel act and gratitude towards the Good Samaritan for taking action.

Dogs are highly vulnerable to heat stroke, and given the recent heatwave, it’s crucial to be extra cautious about leaving dogs in hot conditions.
This summer has already seen several distressing cases of dogs left in overheated vehicles, like an incident at Disney Springs where one dog tragically died, and another rescue from a dangerously hot U-Haul truck on the beach.
Abandoning those puppies in the middle of a field during such severe weather is simply unthinkable, but we are thankful for their rescue and hopeful that they each find loving homes soon.
