Blake Lively’s stunning engagement ring boasts a 12-carat light pink diamond set on a diamond-pavé band.
Blake Lively’s pink diamond engagement ring from husband Ryan Reynolds is certainly something to swoon over.
The couple, who met while costarring in 2011’s Green Lantern, surprised fans when they tied the knot during a secret wedding ceremony in September 2012. Since then, Lively has boasted a stunning pink engagement ring and rose gold wedding band — both designed by celebrity-loved jeweler Lorraine Schwartz.
“Ryan chose Lorraine Schwartz to help him find a flawless, light pink oval diamond,” a spokesperson for the jeweler said. “They worked together to design a custom setting in rose gold and pave diamonds with a nod to deco.”
While the A Simple Favor actress and Deadpool star have remained tight-lipped about their engagement and wedding, Lively has given fans glimpses of her custom bauble over the years. In 2015, she even told British Vogue it was her “most treasured possession.”
Here’s everything to know about Blake Lively’s engagement ring.
Reynolds Worked with Celebrity Jeweler Lorraine Schwartz
Lively’s engagement ring comes from celebrity jeweler Lorraine Schwartz and features a large center stone supported by a band of small diamonds.
Schwartz is the mastermind behind several celebrity engagement rings including Beyoncé’s 18-carat emerald-cut engagement ring from Jay-Z and Kourtney Kardashian’s oval-cut diamond bauble from Travis Barker.
The Ring Features a Large Pink Oval Diamond
The focal point of Lively’s engagement ring is a shimmering 12-carat pink oval-cut diamond. Schwartz also designed Lively’s rose gold wedding band, which features a series of delicate diamonds.
The engagement ring is estimated to be worth about $2 million.
She Showed Off Her Engagement Ring for the First Time in October 2012
One month after marrying Reynolds, Lively showed her engagement ring off for the first time on the red carpet. The It Ends With Us actress attended Chanel Fine Jewelry’s celebration of the 80th Anniversary of the Bijoux De Diamants Collection in New York City in October 2012 wearing a silver and pink Chanel gown with Louboutin heels. Of course, her pink diamond was on full display, giving fans an up-close look at the engagement ring.
Lively Has Called Her Engagement Ring Her “Most Treasured Possession”
In 2015, Lively told British Vogue that her engagement ring is the most cherished item she owns. “My most treasured possession is my engagement ring by my dear friend Lorraine Schwartz, because of the love and meaning it symbolizes,” she said. “No, I didn’t have any hand in its design — I married a gentleman.”
Lively and Reynolds Kept Their Engagement and Wedding a Secret
Neither Lively nor Reynolds has publicly shared details about how their engagement unfolded, and the details of their wedding were similarly kept under wraps. However, fans quickly discovered that the couple had tied the knot at Boone Hall Plantation, located a few miles outside of downtown Charleston, S.C. on Sept. 9, 2012. (In 2020, Reynolds said he and Lively were “deeply and unreservedly sorry” for booking the controversial venue.)
The event featured a performance by Lively’s good friend Florence Welch (of Florence and the Machine), a children’s choir, a paper lantern sendoff over the river and a sour cream wedding cake with peach-apricot preserves.
