During one of their recent tours, kayakers witnessed an endearing moment: a mama manatee sweetly embracing her baby. The touching video, recorded by tour guide Josh and shared on the company’s Instagram, shows the mother and her little one exchanging hugs and kisses.
The video quickly caught the internet’s attention, going viral with over 600,000 likes in just the past week.
“She said, that’s my baby,” commented one viewer.

“If you see this duo along the Silver River, please maintain a safe distance. It’s crucial for the young manatees to access air easily, and for the mama to have enough space to feed and keep her baby healthy,” Get Up and Go advised.
The Silver River is a sanctuary for manatees year-round, but the best time to spot them is during “Manatee Season,” which lasts from November to March. During this period, manatees migrate to the state park to escape the colder waters and find a warm haven.
