Tom Brady Never Thought He’d Be a Cat Dad — Now He Has 3 of Them

Tom Brady, the legendary quarterback, is showing a softer side in his retirement. And it’s all thanks to his daughter’s charming request for kittens.

The man known as the GOAT on the football field is now getting another title at home: America’s Biggest Cat Dad.

However, Tom Brady himself admits that he never expected to become a cat dad.

Surprisingly, he now has three kittens. “They’re fun, and they’re pretty cute,” he shared in an interview.

“I never thought I’d have a cat in my life,” the 46-year-old continues. “But my daughter wins every request in this house.”

Last year, Brady started his journey as a cat dad when his daughter Vivian, now 11, who he shares with ex-wife Gisele Bündchen, asked for kittens. Brady also shares son Benjamin, 14, with Bündchen, and has a 16-year-old son, Jack, with Bridget Moynahan.

The family initially adopted two Siamese kittens.

“Sadly, one of them passed away from a virus,” Brady said. As a replacement, they went to adopt another but couldn’t resist getting two more kittens.

“I promised her one, and now we have three,” Brady added with a laugh.

It’s not the first time Brady has shown his softer side, especially when it comes to animals.

The retired quarterback, recently inducted into the New England Patriots Hall of Fame and featured in a new Hertz ad, has also volunteered at the Humane Society of Tampa Bay.

In 2023, Ashley Bragg Ryan, the wife of Tampa Bay Buccaneers player and Brady’s former teammate Logan Ryan, praised Brady on Instagram. She shared how Brady bonded with kids over naming puppies and bottle-feeding kittens while volunteering at the shelter.

“It wasn’t about publicity, fundraising, or recognition,” she wrote. “It was about being a human being.”
