Jayson Tatum’s Son Deuce Runs onto Court to Hug Dad After Celtics Win 2024 NBA Finals

The Boston Celtics forward shares Deuce, 6, with ex-girlfriend Toriah Lachell.

Jayson Tatum won the NBA finals and dad of the year!

The Celtics star, 26, had a huge win on Monday, June 17, at the 2024 NBA finals in Boston. And the first person he celebrated with on the court was his 6-year-old son Jayson “Deuce” Christopher Tatum Jr.

In the adorable clip, Deuce can be seen hugging his dad as he exclaims, “Daddy!” with a huge smile across his face.

Jayson then throws his son into the air and catches him as green and white confetti rains down around them. The father-son duo embrace in a celebratory, emotional hug before Jayson sits his son back down onto the court.

Celtics fans are already familiar with Deuce, because he can often be found on the sidelines at his dad’s NBA games, but Jayson sad back in March that his little one is ready to follow in his dad’s famous footsteps.

“He just started playing basketball on the organized team,” the NBA player said while chatting about his new appointment as ambassador of Coach. “So he’s really starting to fall in love with the game. It’s exciting to see that.”

Deuce, clad in Celtics green or a mini version of his dad’s jersey, will throw the basketball around (even though it’s as big as he is) and cheer for the Boston team. Jayson says that Deuce even picks out his own outfit for game days, following in his dad’s stylish footsteps.

“His favorite thing is to look in the mirror and be like, ‘Daddy, look, I’m fresh-fresh,’” Tatum says. “He says that now that he’s gotten older. His personality is starting to grow. He’s taking more ownership in the things he wants to wear.”
