“Nobody was hurt,” a source says of the singer, who was arrested by the Sag Harbor Police Department on Tuesday, June 18
Justin Timberlake has been arrested for driving while intoxicated or impaired in Long Island, New York.
A representative for the Sag Harbor Police Department said that as of the morning of June 18, the musician was in police custody.
A source said that the “Selfish” hitmaker, 43, was arrested on DWI charges after having dinner at the American Hotel in Sag Harbor. He was pulled over after leaving the establishment to drive to his friend’s house.
“Nobody was hurt,” the source said. “He will be arraigned in about an hour.”
It was confirmed Timberlake will be charged with one count of DWI and two citations — one for running a stop sign and one for failure to keep in lane.
Police released a statement later Tuesday.
“On June 18, 2024, at 12:37 AM, Justin R. Timberlake, age 43, of Tennessee, was observed operating a 2025 BMW southbound on Madison Street, failing to stop at a duly posted stop sign and failing to maintain his lane of travel. A traffic stop was initiated by a Police Officer from the Sag Harbor Village Police Department and upon investigation it was determined that Mr. Timberlake was operating his vehicle in an intoxicated condition,” it read.
“Mr. Timberlake was placed under arrest, processed, and held overnight for morning arraignment. Mr. Timberlake was arraigned at the Sag Harbor Village Justice Court on June 18, 2024, at 9:30 AM where he was released on his own recognizance.”
Following his arraignment, the “No Angels” singer will be due back in court for a hearing on July 26.
Timberlake is currently on tour to support his latest album, Everything I Thought It Was, which was released on March 15. Ahead of its spring arrival, the “Sanctified” singer previewed album tracks during appearances on Saturday Night Live and NPR’s Tiny Desk.
His Forget Tomorrow World Tour — Timberlake’s first in five years — is next scheduled to play Chicago’s United Center on June 21 and June 22 before going to New York City’s Madison Square Garden on June 25 and June 26. The “Mirrors” performer was on a brief break in New York this week following his Miami stop held on Saturday, June 15.
Timberlake’s tour dates continue in the U.S. through July 9 before he takes the show overseas for a lengthy European run throughout the rest of the summer and into the fall. The Grammy winner will then return to North America for more dates, beginning on Oct. 7 at the Barclay Center in Brooklyn, New York. All shows are scheduled to wrap by Dec. 20.
On Sunday, Timberlake celebrated Father’s Day by penning a heartfelt tribute on Instagram to his sons Silas, 9, and Phineas, 3½ — whom he shares with wife Jessica Biel.
Calling the boys his “2 greatest gifts,” he thanked them both “for giving me my biggest purpose.”
“I learn more about myself everyday just because you both chose me to be your Daddy,” Timberlake wrote. “I will always be there for you through your peaks and valleys… to lift you up and show you how high you can take this life and to pick you up when you fall. And, of course, to flood you with insufferable Dad-jokes all along the way.”
“I love you both so much,” he added.
Timberlake and Biel are currently spending time apart while the “Drown” artist is on tour. The Candy actress, 42, shed light on their marriage amid her husband’s shows during a May 16 appearance on The View.
“It’s always a work in progress,” she explained. “It’s constantly trying to find the balance, trying to find the time when we can connect.”
Biel added, “Thank goodness for Zoom and FaceTime. For traveling families — well, for everybody, really — but for parents who are gone a lot, that’s been really helpful.”
