The beloved couple from the TLC show ‘Doubling Down with the Derricos’ has decided to part ways, leaving their fans heartbroken over the end of their union.
Deon and Karen Derrico, who have been sharing their life and the enormous task of parenting 14 children, officially divorced on June 6, merely two days after filing on June 4, as reported by TMZ.
The divorce settlement states that both Deon and Karen will share legal and physical custody of their 13 minor children.
A representative from TLC has not yet commented on the matter.
The couple, married since 2005, are parents to a large brood: Derrick, 13; 12-year-old twins Dallas and Denver; 10-year-old quintuplets Deonee, Daician, Daiten, Deniko, and Dariz; 6-year-old twins Diez and Dior, and 4-year-old triplets Dawsyn, De’Aren, and Dyver. Their eldest daughter Darian is 18 years old.
Per the settlement, Deon will be paying $1,166 per month in child support, while Karen will handle the children’s medical insurance. Karen has decided to keep the Derrico surname, and the judge has approved this decision.
Interestingly, this news arrives just a couple of weeks before the season 5 finale of ‘Doubling Down with the Derricos,’ scheduled to air on July 2.
This season has highlighted the ongoing strains on Deon and Karen’s marriage, particularly the challenging search for a new home, as noted in the series’ official description.
