A plus-sized influencer is speaking out against trolls who criticize her for flaunting her size 22 body. Despite the negativity, she proudly declares, “I will always be unapologetically fat” and continues to share bold photos in revealing outfits.
Even though she faces hurtful comments, she remains firm that plus-size bodies can be “hot” and look great in bikinis.
While some people online celebrate her confidence and beauty, others criticize her for the health risks associated with being overweight. Read on to learn more about Abby Bible and her journey dealing with online trolls!
In a society often emphasizing unrealistic beauty standards, influencers like Abby Bible are crucial in promoting self-love and body positivity.
Despite occasional negativity, the 25-year-old stays positive and celebrates her love for fashion, delivering a powerful message to her followers.
Standing tall at 6-foot-1 and being a size 22, Bible frequently shares on her Instagram that she won’t conform to society’s “toxic” expectations.
“As a teen, I accepted that I’d never be seen as ‘feminine’ because the media says we must be small, dainty, cute, and soft-spoken. Over the years, it was ingrained in me that being feminine meant being desirable and worthy of a good life,” writes the New York-based influencer. “I’ve slowly freed myself from these toxic thoughts…”
On an appearance on Dr. Phil to discuss body positivity, Bible explained how she struggled with her weight since childhood. “At 14, I weighed about 200 pounds. I had a personal trainer who was harsh, saying if I wanted friends or to be loved, I’d need to lose weight.”
Bible once lost 100 pounds, bringing her weight down to about 235 pounds, but says it “didn’t solve any of her problems” and she remained unhappy, even with the body everyone admired.
Now in a loving relationship, Bible aims to remind others that plus-size bodies are “hot” and look good in bikinis.
‘Look Away’
In a recent TikTok video seen by more than 82,000 people, Bible wears a red string bikini, responding to a troll remarking, “fat people shouldn’t wear string bikinis.”
“If you don’t like it, look away,” she captions the clip, gazing playfully into the camera and mouthing, “I don’t care.”
Many fans showed overwhelming support, expressing gratitude for her inspiration. “I bought my first [bikini] because of you. Seriously,” wrote one fan. Another commented, “You look amazing; I wish I had your body confidence.”
Still, not all responses were positive. Some trolls suggested she lacks self-respect.
“Well, you should care; that’s disrespectful to yourself,” one wrote. Another asked, “Where’s your self-respect?” Someone else advised, “I’m a big [woman], and I say, just because they make it in our size doesn’t mean [you] need to wear it. Have some respect for yourself.”
Crippling Complications
The “unapologetic fashion lover” dazzles her followers with her stylish outfits, but continues to face trolls who criticize people with larger bodies.
However, some argue that the concern is more about the health risks associated with obesity.
“All I see is a lot of strain on her heart and joints, but again, that’s her choice!” wrote one user on Facebook. “But the worry is when health complications arise, such as diabetes, it puts added pressure on our [national healthcare]!”
Another netizen added, “I don’t mind body positivity, but promoting a body with serious health risks as normal is concerning.”
“I fully believe in embracing inner beauty and dressing as you please, but she’s heading for medical issues like diabetes, heart failure, and joint problems. I hope she still feels comfortable in her skin when she’s wheelchair- or bed-bound. It’s so sad she can’t see the damage to her health.”
Bible, who hasn’t publicly addressed these health concerns from her followers, reminds the public, “Just because you’re thin doesn’t mean you’re better than me.”
She adds, “I am an unapologetic fat girl… You can take it or leave it because I’ll always be happy with myself.”
Ultimately, happiness is what counts, and if Bible feels she has found it, we hope her health allows her happiness to continue.
