While the world has been captivated by the high-profile romance of Ben Affleck and Jennifer Lopez, Jennifer Garner has taken a different route, quietly building a relationship away from the glaring lights of fame.
Jennifer, 51, has been in a modest and private relationship with businessman John Miller. Much like Garner, Miller prefers a low-key lifestyle, allowing them to be a “hidden from the spotlight” couple.

When Jennifer Garner and Ben Affleck finalized their divorce in 2018, it wasn’t long before Affleck rekindled his romance with Jennifer Lopez. In contrast to the media frenzy surrounding Affleck and Lopez, little is known about John Miller, Garner’s new partner.
Garner and Miller began dating about six months before her divorce from Affleck was finalized. Though separated since 2015, Garner and Affleck remain co-parents to their three children: Violet, 17, Seraphina, 14, and Samuel, 10.
Who is this mystery man?
John Miller, born in 1978, is both an attorney and a businessman. He serves as the CEO of the fast-food chain CaliBurger and its parent company, CaliGroup. Prior to this, he held a position as VP of intellectual property at Arrowhead Pharmaceuticals.
Miller was previously married to violinist Caroline Campbell from 2005 to 2014 and shares two children with her—daughter Violet and son Quest. Coincidentally, his divorce was finalized about a month after Garner became officially single.
The couple, who have been dating for five years, prefer to keep their relationship private. “She loves how little he cares for the limelight or the whole Hollywood scenester stuff,” a source told Us Weekly. “It’s very different from Ben and J.Lo’s relationship. You won’t see them parading for the cameras or worrying about which events to attend together.”
The source added, “They’re happy being a regular, low-profile couple and don’t need anyone else’s validation. That’s not a slight at other couples; it’s just not who they are.”
Going slow
After a brief separation from August 2020 to the spring of 2021, Garner and Miller are stronger than ever.
“John was ready for marriage, and Jennifer just couldn’t commit at the time,” a source explained back then.
Friends say that Garner and Miller bring out the best in one another. “John is so smitten and caring but not in an overbearing way. He gives Jen space when she needs it but is there for her in tough times,” a source noted. “They’ve enjoyed some wonderful getaways together—that’s one of their big things.”
Staying low
Public curiosity spiked in July 2022 when Affleck married Lopez, prompting many to speculate on Garner’s feelings.
Settling any concerns, Garner and Miller have been seen by paparazzi, showcasing their happiness despite Affleck’s elopement in Las Vegas.
In January 2023, Entertainment Tonight captured images of Affleck chatting friendly with Miller. Garner and Miller were also spotted in Santa Barbara, enjoying a shopping outing in Montecito’s Village.
Going with ‘the flow’
As the couple becomes more comfortable with public exposure, they are seen more often expressing their affection—be it a quick kiss, holding hands, or taking a morning jog together.
“Jen’s become a lot more secure in their relationship and isn’t as shy about showing it,” a source shared. “She’s proud to show him off.”
According to an insider in November 2023, Garner and Miller are in an excellent place. “They used to go out of their way to keep a low profile, but they’re now very secure and comfortable with their relationship,” the source said.
The couple hit a significant milestone on Garner’s 50th birthday, bringing their children and families together for a food drive. However, they are not yet planning to blend their families completely.
While marriage is a topic of discussion, there’s no rush. Garner is content cherishing and enjoying what they have without formal labels. “John is happy to go with the flow,” a friend said. “After having so much of her previous marriage in the spotlight, she really enjoys being with someone who isn’t a celebrity.”
