Angelina Jolie and her daughter Vivienne are stepping out on the red carpet together.
On Thursday, May 30, the movie star and her daughter were seen supporting their friend Kristen Bell at the premiere of Reefer Madness: The Musical, held at The Whitley in Los Angeles.
Jolie, who always looks effortlessly chic, wore a stylish black suit adorned with a white t-shirt that had a fun printed gray tie. Vivienne, growing into her own fashion style, looked smart in black trousers paired with a matching vest over a light blue shirt. Kristen Bell shone in a long black dress with sheer accents.
Produced by Kristen Bell and Alan Cumming, Reefer Madness: The Musical is making its grand return to the stage, promising what the website describes as an “immersive theatrical experience.” Bell, who charmed audiences as the voice of Anna in Frozen, initially starred in the 2005 film adaptation of Reefer Madness: The Movie Musical alongside Cumming.
Bell expressed her gratitude for Jolie’s support and called it a “lovely gesture.”
“She didn’t give me any specific advice. She just wanted to come out and support, which was wonderful, especially for a project launching in Los Angeles—a city that doesn’t have the same theater culture as New York,” Bell shared.
Angelina Jolie has been busy herself, producing The Outsiders Broadway musical. Based on S. E. Hinton’s renowned 1967 novel, the show started its run last month.
During the Playbill for The Outsiders, Vivienne dropped her dad Brad Pitt’s last name. She is now listed simply as “Vivienne Jolie.” This signaled a potential change, though it’s unclear if it’s a legal alteration as representatives did not respond to requests for comments on the matter.
Angelina and Brad’s family also includes Maddox, 22, Pax, 20, Zahara, 19, Shiloh, 18, and Vivienne’s twin brother, Knox, 15.
Recently, during an interview, Jolie talked about the joy and challenges of working closely with her daughter. Recalling the duo’s collaborative efforts in The Outsiders, she highlighted Vivienne’s dedication.
“She’s quick to correct me,” Jolie said with a chuckle. “She’ll remind me of the important details we need to follow through on. She takes her role quite seriously.”
