The woman, identified as Andreé Goldberg, issued a public apology and also privately made amends with the couple.
The woman who confronted Kylie and Jason Kelce and demanded a picture outside a New Jersey restaurant has apologized.
“In a heated moment, I said things that were out of character for me and that I regret and for that, I am sorry,” the woman, identified as Andreé Goldberg, said in a statement obtained by ABC affiliate WPVI-TV.
Goldberg’s statement continued, “My anger, and my actions, are not who I am, and certainly not indicative of the welcoming community of Margate. As an adult and proud member of my community, I should have recognized and respected their right to privacy from the onset. I am deeply appreciative of the grace and understanding shown to me by the Kelces and wish them nothing but the best.”
The woman told the station that her public apology comes after she personally apologized to the couple after the interaction, which took place outside Steve & Cookie’s Restaurant and Oyster Bar in Margate City on Saturday, May 25.
In a viral video, the woman can be seen screaming at Kylie that she “will never be allowed in this town again” after the mother of three declined to take a photo with Goldberg while on a date night with Jason.
On May 29, Mayor Collins issued an apology and offered to help the couple redo their date night in South Jersey.
“On behalf of the City of Margate, I’d like to formally apologize to Jason and Kylie Kelce for the experience they had in Margate City over the holiday weekend,” the mayor wrote in his statement.
So far, the Kelces have not commented on the incident. But in the May 29 episode of New Heights with Jason and Travis Kelce, Jason said he and Kylie had a great time in nearby Sea Isle with their three daughters over the holiday weekend.
“We went to Sea Isle [New Jersey] ….. Went to the beach, had a lot of fun with the girls, ate a bunch of beach food,” Jason said.
