Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt were once a beloved Hollywood couple, but their relationship has taken a drastic turn. After their 2019 divorce, the two have been involved in numerous legal battles and have faced serious allegations.
One such allegation surfaced this April when Angelina accused Brad of physical abuse, something he has strongly denied. The former couple is also still disputing over a French winery they bought together.
Recently, it was reported that Vivienne, one of Angelina and Brad’s children, decided to drop ‘Pitt’ from her last name. Now, her sister Shiloh has taken it a step further by moving to do the same in a more official manner.
According to TMZ, Shiloh Jolie-Pitt turned 18 this week and immediately filed paperwork to legally change her name to Shiloh Jolie.
Filing the paperwork on her 18th birthday suggests that this name change was among her first priorities as a legal adult.
Though the legal name change hasn’t been finalized yet, TMZ reports it is only a matter of time. Shiloh is one of Jolie and Pitt’s six children, but it seems she isn’t the only one distancing herself from Brad.
Vivienne, 15, recently made headlines when her name appeared in The Outsiders Playbill as Vivienne Jolie, omitting ‘Pitt’.
Nineteen-year-old Zahara, one of Angelina and Brad’s adopted children, also goes by Zahara Jolie these days. TMZ mentions that Maddox, 22, the oldest sibling, doesn’t use ‘Pitt’ in his surname either.
While Shiloh is the first to make the legal move for a name change, it’s clear most of the children align more with their mother during this familial discord.
Son Pax criticized Brad in a private Instagram post from 2020 that recently came to light.
“You have made the lives of those closest to me a constant hell,” Pax allegedly wrote on his Instagram account.
“You may tell yourself and the world whatever you want, but the truth will come to light someday.”
He concluded: “So Happy Father’s Day, you f*****g awful human being.”
