Woman Who Spent $120k Modifying Her Body Shares Photo Of Herself Before Transformation

Note: we are sharing this story that originally captured attention in October 2020.

Amber Luke, a body modification enthusiast from Brisbane, shared for the first time a photo of herself before investing $120,000 in her head-to-toe transformation.

Luke dedicated $50,000 towards approximately 600 tattoos, one of which involved injecting blue ink into her eyeballs—a 40-minute procedure that left her blind for three weeks.

She also channeled $70,000 into various extreme body modifications, including cheek and lip fillers, tongue splitting, pointed implants in her ears, breast augmentation, and a Brazilian butt lift.

Self-described as the “blue-eyed white dragon girl,” Luke posted a picture of herself before undergoing the extreme makeover. Back then, she had only a quote tattoo on her collarbone and a tiny piercing on her cheekbone.

“No face tattoos, just a dermal [piercing],” she explained on her Instagram Story. “We’ve all got to start somewhere.”

She also shared another photo of her 18-year-old self, sporting a bare face and a set of quote tattoos along her ribs.

“This was me at 18 years old. I was so catatonically depressed, suicidal, and felt like a walking dead girl. I was numb. I hated myself most of the time—that hatred ran deep and tormented me,” she captioned the post. “Now, I’ve completely transformed into someone I’m proud of being. I’m a strong woman who knows exactly what she wants and who she is.”

Last November, Luke revealed that the eye tattoo procedure left her blind for three weeks.

“I can’t even begin to describe what the feeling was like. The best way to explain it is, once the ink penetrated my eyeball, it felt like the artist grabbed 10 shards of glass and rubbed them into my eye,” she recounted to Barcroft TV. “That happened four times per eye, which was pretty brutal. Unfortunately, my artist went too deep. If done correctly, the eye tattoo shouldn’t cause blindness at all. I was blind for three weeks. It was quite brutal.”

She had already declared she never intends to undergo such extreme modifications again.

“I don’t plan on getting any more body modifications that are extreme in that manner. No more tongue splitting, no more eyeball tattooing,” Luke stated.

Luke mentioned she had never liked herself before these transformations.

“Looking at my old photos, I saw myself as very plain. I absolutely hated how I looked—it wasn’t me. I felt boring,” she told the Daily Mail Australia. “But over the years, I’ve evolved into what I want to be. Nonetheless, I still have a long way to go.”

Luke says she has “no regrets” about her decade-long transformation journey.

“I’m not worried about how I’ll look when I’m older. Everyone ages, and I don’t think anyone will look particularly ‘pretty’ at 70 years old. At the end of the day, it’s the only thing I can take to my grave,” she said.

She mentioned that her transformations have brought mixed reactions.

“I received a lot of support and positive feedback from complete strangers. Of course, there are always a few negative, opinionated individuals who try to make you feel inadequate, but I don’t let them get to me,” she explained. “I’m not harming anyone in the process. I’m doing what makes me happy and if that helps me get up in the morning as a happy person, then so be it.”
