Utah Rancher, 21, Still Missing After Vanishing While Walking to Work Over a Month Ago: ‘So Many Unknowns’

Elizibeth Green has been missing since April 17 and was last seen walking to work in a remote area of Callao.

A 21-year-old woman from Utah went missing over a month ago while heading to work at a distant ranch, and she hasn’t been seen since.

Elizibeth Green was last seen on April 17, 2024, and was reported missing to the Juab County Sheriff’s Office. According to a press release, Green hails from Callao, UT, and was last seen donning a pink tie-dye hoodie, light blue jeans, and black Converse sneakers. She had a white backpack with her.

Green’s mother, Vanessa Simmons, expressed her worries to a local news outlet, saying, “There’s so many unknowns, unfortunately.”

Simmons shared that her daughter was last seen on her way to a nearby ranch in the remote Callao area for a new job.

“I’m kind of at the point where I think maybe she had somebody pick her up,” Simmons explained. “I just don’t know who that is or if they actually picked her up, or if they didn’t arrive, leading her to try and walk through the desert.”

The Juab County Sheriff’s Office did not immediately respond to inquiries.

According to a search warrant filed by the Juab County Sheriff’s Office, Green’s devices and social media accounts were reviewed, and the Juab County Search and Rescue began their search on April 18.

The search area is challenging, located about three hours from any major city and requiring travel on dirt roads.

According to the search warrant, rescue teams have scoured the area between Green’s home and the ranch. They performed grid-pattern searches but were unable to find any trace of Elizibeth or clues about her whereabouts.

The warrant also noted that the police searched the ranch where Green was headed, but the rancher said she did not arrive, and he had no contact with her. Deputies did not find anything suspicious on the ranch.

The authorities are concerned for Elizibeth’s safety, fearing she might be in severe danger or possibly injured or worse. The document mentions the uncertainty about whether she is lost in the vast desert or if someone she had been communicating with met her and is holding her against her will.

Friends and family noted that while Green has experienced mental health issues and has run away before, she usually returns after reaching out to her family within a day or so.
