After an incredible 43 years as the beloved host of Wheel of Fortune, Pat Sajak’s final episode has been officially scheduled. The legendary host will bid farewell on June 7, marking the end of an era for America’s favorite game show.
Pat Sajak, now 77 years old, has already recorded his last appearance on the show. To honor his departure, Wheel of Fortune will air a special series titled “Thanks for the Memories,” celebrating the great moments and contributions that Sajak has brought to the show.
Last summer, Sajak shared his intentions to retire following the show’s 41st season. In his heartfelt announcement, he said, “Well, the time has come. I’ve decided that our 41st season, which begins in September, will be my last. It’s been a wonderful ride, and I’ll have more to say in the coming months. Many thanks to you all.”
Shortly after announcing his retirement, Ryan Seacrest was named as the new host for Wheel of Fortune. Vanna White will continue her role on the game show, standing by Seacrest just as she did with Pat for all these years.
Seacrest expressed his admiration and humility in taking over the iconic role: “I am truly humbled to be stepping into the footsteps of the legendary Pat Sajak. Along with the rest of America, I’ve had the privilege and pure joy of watching Pat and Vanna on our television screens for an unprecedented 40 years, making us smile every night and feel right at home with them.”
It’s a poignant moment for many of us who have grown up watching Pat’s charming presence on the show. However, we also look forward to seeing how Ryan Seacrest will bring his own touch to Wheel of Fortune.
Will you be tuning in for Pat Sajak’s final episode? It’s sure to be a memorable evening marking a significant chapter in television history.
