Missing Dog Returns Home by Ringing Owners’ Doorbell at 3 AM

It’s always heart-wrenching when a beloved pet goes missing. However, it’s crucial to remain hopeful – sometimes our furry friends return when we least anticipate it.

This was exactly what happened in a recent incident involving a frightened dog who ran away but made her way back home in the most amusing and unexpected manner.

Mary Lynn, hailing from Greensville, South Carolina, is the proud owner of a dog named Rajah.

Like many dogs, Rajah is terrified of fireworks. This fear recently led to a nerve-wracking situation when the sound of a nearby fireworks display caused her to bolt.

“She was in the backyard with our other dog when our neighbor started launching fireworks. I knew she’d be scared,” Mary shared with SWNS. “I headed to the backyard – and she was already gone.”

Throughout the night, Mary and her husband Ryan scoured the neighborhood, contacted shelters, and posted about their missing dog on social media.

Hours went by without any success. But then, at 3 AM, they heard the doorbell ring… and there was Rajah!

Rajah had been on her own for more than 7 hours, but this clever pup not only found her way back home but also figured out how to ring the doorbell!

“I have no idea how she knew to do that. I never showed her how,” Mary admitted.

“She usually only goes to the front yard to get into the car, so she’s never seen us use the doorbell.”

Fortunately, Ryan was still awake and promptly answered the door to let her in. The specifics of Rajah’s adventures while she was away remain a mystery, but Mary suspects she had quite a journey.

“She had thorns on her and seemed to have rolled in something unpleasant,” Mary told SWNS. “So, it looks like she had an eventful time.”

The couple was ecstatic to have her back. The video clip of the ingenious dog ringing the doorbell, captured by their Ring camera, has since gone viral after they shared it on Reddit.

We’re so happy Rajah made it back home! What a brilliant dog, and what a hilarious way to come back!
