Kate Middleton’s recent hospital stay following her planned abdominal surgery left many of us worried. There has been speculation about whether the surgery was planned or not, but what matters most now is that our beloved Princess is taking the time to rest and recover in the comfort of her own home.
After leaving the hospital, Kate returned to her residence at Adelaide Cottage on the Windsor grounds, where the Prince and Princess of Wales recently moved in. Adelaide Cottage has a rich royal history, having been built in 1831 for Queen Adelaide, the wife of King William IV. The cottage underwent complete renovation in 2015, attracting the attention of many royals over the years.
According to royal reporter Victoria Murphy, Prince William and Kate chose Adelaide Cottage because they wanted to offer their children a more rural upbringing away from the hustle and bustle of Kensington Palace. The cottage also appealed to them because it had already been renovated, and they decided not to have staff living there.
However, some people have expressed concerns about Kate staying at Adelaide Cottage immediately after being discharged from the hospital. It is said that the cottage can get quite cold, with a former tenant even describing it as the coldest place she had ever encountered. Considering the current winter weather, it may not be the best environment for Kate to start feeling better.
Luckily, Kate has a close friend who revealed that the Princess is “on the mend” and will be splitting her time between Adelaide Cottage and the royal estate of Sandringham. This will give her a change of scenery and allow her to relax in Norfolk while the children enjoy some time with William.
Sandringham is also where King Charles, who is currently receiving treatment for cancer, finds peace and quiet. He returns to Sandringham after his treatments in London. We send our best wishes for a speedy recovery to both Princess Kate and King Charles.
