Their paths crossed again a decade later while working on the film Lemon Sky. At the time, it didn’t seem like they were destined to be together. In fact, Sedgwick openly admits that she didn’t find Bacon attractive. However, he was instantly smitten with her.

Now, after 34 years of marriage, Bacon and Sedgwick are still as in love as they were on day one. The actor never misses an opportunity to express his adoration for his wife. Sedgwick shared, “I’m not sure how he does it, but he always makes me feel like the most gorgeous lady in the room – the only girl in the room.”
When asked about the secret to their long-lasting marriage, Bacon had some down-to-earth advice. “Whatever you do, don’t listen to celebrities on how to stay married,” he quipped. “It’s undoubtedly their love and respect for one another that makes their relationship so strong.”
Sedgwick has nothing but praise for her husband. “He is a man of integrity. He is so morally upright. He has strong moral standards, doesn’t lie or cheat, and I find it sexy!” she revealed. “I am constantly amazed by Kevin’s calmness and his lack of ‘crazy.’”
In an interesting twist, the couple discovered on the show “Finding Your Roots” that they are actually ninth cousins. But that revelation didn’t affect their relationship. While Sedgwick felt a bit uneasy at first, she quickly realized that they were distant cousins.
During the same show, the couple also discovered that Bacon’s 22nd great grandfather was none other than King Edward I, the historic figure who battled William Wallace. Bacon jokingly remarked that his ancestors must have felt overlooked and that as long as they weren’t first cousins, it was all good.
Currently, Bacon and Sedgwick are spending most of their time at home due to the ongoing pandemic. Sedgwick has been busy writing, while the couple enjoys watching movies and reading together. Even in these challenging times, their bond remains strong.
